Dental visits during COVID- 19 pandemic
Clinic's Chief Doctor Dr. Džesmonda Niķe are urging all patients to be very attentive during these days and look carefully after themselves and loved ones. “We really do want people to exercise good hygiene to protect everyone around us. Wash your hands regularly, cough into a tissue or your elbow, make sure you’re not touching your face. If you’re sick, stay home, take time from work and speak to a health care provider to ensure we can keep everyone healthy.”
The dental profession is particularly at risk, due to the possibility of aerosols produced by saliva droplets. These droplets can be inhaled, come into contact with skin or mucous membranes, and/or lodge on the surfaces of the dental office or other materials used during the dental appointment where hands can then be contaminated.
Agenskalna Dental Clinic is following the highest principles of cleanliness, disinfection and sterilization that have been set by national government and World Dental Federation. “We are asking people — if they have routine dental visits coming up and they have symptoms, have travelled to one of the affected areas or are living in close contact with somebody who has — to phone the dental office and talk about whether it’s wise for them to proceed or whether their routine care should simply be rescheduled for a couple weeks later when they are feeling better. If patients are sick or have any flu like symptoms, we urge them to stay home and self-isolate.”
Dear clients, let’s stay safe, stay at home and make a phone call before coming to the Clinic!
Kind regards
Dr Džesmonda Niķe
